Improve game speed and agility while decreasing injury
Game speed and agility
A lot of young athletes can be very quad dominant which affects their quickness and agility. Adding exercises to strengthen the glutes and hamstrings will not only improve game speed, but can also help prevent injury. Banded leg curls and lunges with a focus of driving through that front heel can pay huge dividends in this area.
change of direction
The ability to absorb force when stopping is just as important as your ability to explode back in another direction. Adding drills that enforce good landing mechanics as well as increasing general leg strength can decrease knee injuries and increase speed to the ball.
