Develop Game Speed and Game Strength

Is the 40 yard dash really a good indicator of game speed? 

Very rarely does a player get an open field for that long. Focusing on exercises in the weight room that develop an explosive start and acceleration will make a difference on the score board. Front squat from a rack placed at the bottom of an athletes squat position are a great addition.

Are your players weight room strong or are they Game Strong?

A lot of traditional barbell exercises will definitely improve strength on the field, but the addition of Strongman and odd object training can add strength that has a huge carryover to game situations, especially for those guys in the trenches.
